A romantic comedy not like the others The first thing which seduce me was the script. I like this story which does not resemble the other romantic comedies at all but that is a true one ! In a certain way, this film reinvents a little the kind, in any case it refreshes it.
A character who resembles to me
From a more personal point of view, I liked that my character is Scottish like me, that his identity is clearly defined but that it is not locked up in the usual stereotype of the Scot. He lives in the United States, works in data processing, he has a true personality, without to carry kilt or gaver of whisky! I really liked to play a "normal" Scot!
Jack and Rufus
Rufus is the best friend of Jack and they work also together. They are complementary. Of the two, Rufus is the one which has the more of imagination, it is clearly kind to postpone to the following day what he is not obliged to do the very same day. He is him who pushes Jack to have fun the festival, to leave a little. Rufus is full with energy whereas Jack is contained a little more. They balance and they are close. Rufus is undoubtedly one of the rare people to be able to speak frankly in Jack. He pushes him to open. He is the one which put books in the hands to him and it is a little thanks to him if Jack will seduce this very pretty Frenchwoman played by Melanie!
Well in the skin of Rufus
I arrived on the set rather late and I have almost all my scenes with Justin. Usually, I am always on the set as of the first day and I take my marks with the remainder of the team. There, I arrived in a team which played since already weeks and which functioned perfectly. It just was necessary me to discover my partner, which was easy, and to slip to me into the role that Jennifer had written. We spoke about it, she had a very clear vision of the things. It is at the same time scenario writer and director and has her subject perfectly. playing Rufus was all the more easy as I was entirely of agreement with the approach that Jennifer had of it.
The play remains the same one
In my opinion, it there no difference between playing on the Lord Of the Rings and playing in this film. The teams are not the same ones but work always consists in incarnating your character of best than can it to you. I already turned in number of country, including to France, for a short-movie ( Instant Credit, as we, fans, can guess), and in Belgium with a French team. For me, JUSQU' A TOI is, before every thing, an excellent story, funny, touching, original, setting in scene with a true vision.
