I should probably apologize for having the site down for more than a week. My mistake, I forgot to pay for another year of the domain and the server didn't say a word - which they hadn't done before. As soon as I realized the site wasn't working, I sent the money and so I'm back again :)
Sorry for the inconvenience, I hope it won't happen again ;)
Dundee Rep Theatre’s award winning musical Sunshine on Leith, based on the songs of The Proclaimers is to be re-staged for a major 2010/2011 UK Tour. The acclaimed Sunshine on Leith written by Stephen Greenhorn will be returning to the King’s Theatre Glasgow from 28th September to 2nd October and stars Billy Boyd as Davy.
Sorry for not updating lately, but I had more important things to do - to study for my state exams. But now when I got my bachelor degree, I'm back :D
I guess I'll take a while until I catch up with all the news, but something for the start I have for you an interview for Pimp movie, which has premiere in May.
Yesterday, Pimp was released in cinemas, followed by DVD release on May 24. But before I start with reviews, I have for you the last exclusive Pimp clip - finally with Billy.
Billy Boyd, best known for his portrayal of Pippin in The Lord of the Rings movies, will star in a U.K. tour of the musical Sunshine on Leith, which will launch from Dundee Rep on August 31. James Brining will direct the production, which will feature musical direction by Hilary Brooks and choreography by Lizzie Gee.
The tour, currently scheduled to continue through November 27, includes engagements in an additional nine venues in cities such as Belfast, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Southampton, Dartford, Northampton, and Oxford.
Sunshine in Leith has a book by Stephen Greenhorn and uses the songs of Scottish pop duo the Proclaimers to tell the story of two soldiers, who return from battle in Afghanistan and find that families and relationships at home are not all smooth sailing.
The creative team will include Neil Warmington (production design) and Oliver Fenwick (lighting design). Additional casting will be announced shortly.
Boyd's stage credits include HOME GLASGOW, Uncommitted Crimes, Trainspotting, Widows, Caledonia Dreaming and The Ballad of Crazy Paola.
On June 27, Beecake have their "Official Album Launch Party" at the 02 ABC Glasgow. Tickers are available from this Monday (May 17) here as well as more info.
This is a title of an article posted on i09 along with three videos - the official teaser, a behind-the-scene vid with a cat playing the major role and a "news footage" with a reporter being attacked by flying monkeys.
Yesterday, the movie Glenn 3948 had a premiere at 28th Brussels International Film Festival. So that hopefully means that we will soon get to see it, too!
Check out the festival site for more info about the movie.
Billy is listed for another movie, called A70 that tells a true story about two Scottish men being abducted from their car on the A70 road in West Lothian in 1992.
There is no more info yet, as the film is in development right now, but I have for you an article from October 2009 telling the story of the kidnapped men.
The official site of the Witches of Oz has now a "First Look" video from the upcoming movie with a small commentary. Billy first appears about 0:26 in the blue fog, then at 1:10, then 1:45, then something blows right into his face at 2:20 and flying monkey attacks at 2:23. Sounds interesting
