We had some fun asking you good people out there in Myspaceland to come up with a short story containing all of the Beecake songs that we have performed live over the past few years and we have been,to say the least, gobsmacked! with the standard.
We would love you to put your short stories here, below this blog, within the comments section and let everyone read these great short stories.
Here are the rules: You must have fun and let your imagination go wild!
The story must start with "The Beecake guys walked into the bar" and end with "Rick shouted, this is not an exit" The story should contain the title of as many songs as you can remember that we have performed live or recorded since we became Beecake.
As you may or may not have noticed we have started Twittering...the main aim of Tittering for us is to keep it fun and entertaining for everyone who wants to take part.We will try and leave updates as regularly as possible...mainly silly stuff & some not so silly stuff. We will still keep our myspace page up to date with any Beecake news as soon at it breaks so all of our friends on myspace shouldn't and won't miss a thing.
A message of support from Scots actor and Lord of the Rings star Billy Boyd was shown to the boys.
He said: "I think it's really important for boys of this age to be encouraged to be creative and to feel supported if they want to get involved in the arts, I know first hand some of the stigma attached to being of school age and wanting to perform.
"This is an incredible project and I know how fulfilling and fun it will be for all involved, whether they want to take their singing further or just take this one opportunity to feel the thrill of singing in a choir. I support this scheme wholeheartedly."
So it seems that Dominator X stopped existing. It disappeared from IMDB and it's "official site" is non-existing, too. I guess they found out it's a totally stupid film and nobody would watch it, lol.
Other thing I have for you is a teaser from Tattoos: A Scarred History. No Billy in there, though. But I should warn you it's rather disgusting and you must be over 17 and logged in to watch it. Click.
Just a brief mention. To Beecake's Myspace has been added a new version of Boy. I don't like the song, it's too much depressing to me, but you may have different opinion :)
Thanks to my friends on LiveJournal, I have for you tons of pictures from The Rescue, the protest against the child soldiery.
All pics are taken by Emma Boyd, and the whole set from this event can be found on her Flickr page. I hope she won't mind if I put the pics to my gallery, too.
"We waited to see if we would be 'rescued'. To the delight of all there, our rescuer turned out to be Billy Boyd, one of the hobbits in The Lord of the Rings. He spoke briefly, but passionately, about the need for justice for the child soldiers and then spent lots of time signing autographs and having his photograph taken with his many young admirers. He was a great ambassador for the cause."
I'm having a little break from accountancy, so... what's new with Billy? Well, apparently nothing :) But that doesn't matter at all. You know why? Because I have a really cute video, rather old, though, from Billy's appearance on Craig Kilborn's show on 1st March 2004, the day after Oscars. Billy is sweet as always
I'm so sorry guys, that I'm behind with updates, but I really don't have time these days. Exams are here and I'm studying day at night. I even didn't turn the pc on for several days :) Please, be patient, it will be over soon ;)
But in the meanwhile, there are some articles about the Rescue:
The following video is from April 25, taking place in Prince's Street Gardens, Edinburgh. It was a protest against the abduction of children in Uganda to be forced into child soldiery. The point of all of this was to wait until someone important "rescue" the gathered people. And guess who showed up :)
I found a cute article about Dominic talking about travelling. It's not much Billy-related, but there are few nice mentions of him:
Best holiday?
Holidays are all different depending on the company and time of your life. However I do remember a fantastic holiday to Thailand with Billy Boyd and Orlando Bloom in my early twenties. We were all single, young and up for an adventure. We went to Bangkok then took off to the islands.
Favourite walk/swim/ride/drive?
My favourite drive, from LA via Big Sur to San Francisco, is really beautiful. I also drove from the top to the bottom of the South Island of New Zealand with Billy Boyd, which took about three days. It was like a Beatles Magical Mystery Tour – we got drunk, though not while driving; ate too much; got lost and took photos of road kill on the way.
On March 16, Billy appeared in BBC Radio 5 in Simon Mayo's show. You can listen to it here on BBC official site. I haven't seen it (because it requires Real Player and I don't feel like installing it right now ), but it should be mostly about Billy's projects - Misterstourworm and little about Carmel, the Movie.
I know there are usually problems with listening and watching British things, but I hope this one works also for international fans. Let me know
I was browsing thru YouTube and I found Sniper 470! It's just first part from three, but it was added only few hours ago, so I hope there's more to come I haven't seen the film myself, so I finally have a chance
So watch it and then tell me what you think about it
